Fremont Area AAUW Foundation for Local Scholarships

The Fremont Area AAUW Foundation for Local Scholarships is a 501(c)(3) charitable entity that allows the Fremont Branch to collect tax deductible donations necessary to fund our mission of providing meaningful educational opportunities to achieve gender equity.

Our Programs:

1. Ohlone College Scholarships – we award three or more scholarships annually to outstanding continuing first-year students and transfer students who will pursue their education at four-year universities. We raise money for this important community service through various activities, with the results shown in Scholarship Contributions. Scholarships are awarded once every year in the spring, and help cover tuition expenses and registration fees for AAUW’s annual National Conference for College Women Student Leaders.

Continuing Students: Two $750 scholarships will be awarded to first-year students with any major.
Transfer Students: One $4,000 scholarship will be awarded to a second-year student with any major who plans to transfer to a four-year university.

If you wish to apply for a scholarship, please contact Ohlone College Foundation.

2. Mother-Daughter STEM Discovery Day is an annual hands-on event for elementary school girls and their female guardians. The goal is to reach our girls early and keep them interested in science, technology engineering and math.

3. Tech Trek is a week-long residential STEM summer camp for middle school girls held at  premier universities located in northern California. We sponsor 5-10 girls a year at $1,200 each.

4. Speech Trek contest is AAUW California’s signature high school program. The contests begin at the branch level and the finalists advance to the state finals. The top three winners are awarded cash scholarships.

5. Pathways to Law mission statement is to advance education, leadership, and career pathways for women and girls in the area of law and public policy.
